After completing her undergraduate studies in Greece, Sophia continued her studies in the UK where she worked for more than 10 years as a professor of psychology at the Universities of Keele, Wolverhampton and Chester.
As an academic he has taught a wide range of counselling and psychology topics. He has worked in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK as a psychologist. She is an active member of the British Psychological Society, of which she is a Chartered Psychologist and has recently been awarded the honorary title, Associate Fellow (BPS). She is also an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is a member of the United Kingdom Register of Counselling and Psychotherapy (UKRC) and the Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR). Sophia returned to Greece in 2006, teaching at Minoan International College until 2010. She is a therapist and supervisor. Her research interests are in qualitative research, narrative approaches to psychotherapy, metaphorical discourse, social constructionism, supervision and training in counselling.
Since 2007 she has been involved in the development of the Master’s Degree in Person-Centered Counselling & Psychotherapy at ICPS, and since 2012 she has been a qualitative researcher in the Department of Counselling at the College.
