Maria-Ioanna Argyropoulou

Maria Ioanna completed her undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialised in Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy at the Institute of Behavioral Research and Therapy. Since 2010 she has been practicing privately as a Clinical Psychologist and deals with diagnosis, counselling and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults.
She worked as a collaborator of the centers "Speech Development & Learning", "Speech", as well as the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Unit for the child "Spyros Doxiadis", where she dealt with psychological diagnoses and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy and counselling.
Her research interests include the study of procrastination as well as its relationship to willpower, mental health, quality of life, health behaviors as well as problematic computer use. She has also researched early dysfunctional patterns in children and adolescents as well as the factors that affect close interpersonal relationships, such as values, the dimensions of quality relationships, conflict management tactics in married couples, and the type of attachment, intimacy, verbal expression, trust and criticism.
Maria Ioanna has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens, at the TEI of Athens, at the Institute of Behavioral Research & Therapy and at the Hellenic Society for Behavior Research.
Her scientific activity includes 39 oral presentations in Greek and international conferences, 5 articles in scientific journals, 3 chapters in collective volumes as well as a chapter in university notes.
