Effrosini Papadimitropoulou,
B.A., M.A.

Effrosini was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA. During her undergraduate studies in Chicago, she worked extensively in Cook County Jail and the Chicago Juvenile Court, gaining extensive experience in gang-related crime, juvenile delinquency, the effects of poverty, and violent financial crime (fraud, espionage, etc. in work environment, companies, etc.), through internships and research programs.

She also did the required internship as an apprentice at the United Stated Environmental Protection Agency (U.S.E.P.A.) offices in Chicago, where she later worked as a legal advisor. In addition, during her studies, she served as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After completing his Master’s, she worked in legal aid and as a consultant in the research department of the American Bar Association.

Since moving to Greece and for 15 years she has worked as a professor of psychology, criminology and sociology. She has also worked as a translator and consultant at the National Center for Social Research, on a program related to poverty and crime, and as a consultant on several television programs and newspaper articles on criminal behavior here in Greece. Her research interests include financial crime, the sociology of crime and juvenile delinquency and prevention.
