Alexandros Vallidis,
B.Sc., M.Sc.,

Alexandros studied Psychology (B.Sc.) at Panteion University where he obtained his degree. In 2012 he completed his postgraduate specialisation in alcohol and drug addiction counselling (BTEC) and in 2017 he obtained his postgraduate degree in Person-Centered Counseling and Psychotherapy (M.Sc. in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy). As part of his internship (2011) he worked as a therapist in a rehabilitation center Dafni and prepared three case studies.

During his military service (2013) he gathered the psychosocial care team of the K.E.T.TH. Avlona  military camp and then staffed the day care and treatment center at the military hospital of the island of Lemnos by introducing 3 questionnaires (General Health Quality, STAI-GR X1 for self-esteem and stress and for the multidimensional health control performance scale (MHLOC Scale).
 
Alexandros worked voluntarily from 2014 to 2015 at the Mental Health Center of Maroussi (Franco Basaglia) where he coordinated groups in the day care center (music therapy groups, experiential exercises and meeting groups). In 2015 he completed his research at the day center entitled "Self-reference after an encounter group intervention for mental health users. An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis ”. In 2015 he staffed the child protection team of the NGO PRAKSIS in Samos with the aim of registering and providing assistance to the unaccompanied minor refugees. In 2016, he took over as coordinator and scientifically responsible for the humanitarian intervention programs in Samos of the NGO PRAKSIS (unaccompanied minors' hostel, child protection group within the Samos Penitentiary). During the period from 2016 to 2017 he developed tools for determining the best interest (Best Interest Assessment form) of unaccompanied children for whom family reunification cases were pending in the European Union.

During the period 2017 to 2018, Alexandros worked as a scientific responsible and coordinator at the hospitality center for unaccompanied minors in Ano Patisia of the Municipality of Athens. At the same time he participated in the national child protection group (National Child Protection Working Group). From 2018 until today, he is a member of MERIMNA’S counselling center for mourning and grief.  Alexandros works with individuals, couples, with families, and groups.
He has attended training programs "Child Protection", "Cultural Mediation", "Training in Mourning Counselling", "Developmental Trauma". He has been trained as a child protection expert by the International Rescue Committee. Since 2013 he has been working (under supervision) with clinical cases and maintains a private psychologist's office.
 
He has given lectures and trainings in Mental Health centers and child protection groups on the topics: "Loss and Mourning Management", "Self-injury in Adolescents", "Management of work stress".
 
His professional interest focuses mainly on mourning counselling, person-centered psychotherapy, addiction counselling and the treatment of mental trauma.
