Sophia after the completion of her undergraduate studies in Greece moved to Britain, where she worked for over ten years as a psychology professor at the Universities of Keele, Wolverhampton and Chester.

As an academic she has taught a wide range of counselling and psychology topics. She has worked for the National Health Service (NHS) in Britain as a psychologist. She is an active member of the British Association of Psychologists and she recently received the honored title, Associate Fellow (BPS). She is an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), while she is also a member of United Kingdom Register of Counselling and Psychotherapy (UKRC) and a member of Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR). Sophia returned in Greece in 2006 and she taught at the Minoan International College until 2010. She is a therapist and a supervisor. Her research interests are in: qualitative research, narrative therapies in psychotherapy, metaphoric language in communication, social constructionism, supervision and training in counselling and psychotherapy.  

Since 2007 she is occupied with the development of the Postgraduate of Person-Centered Counselling and Psychotherapy at ICPS, while since 2012 she is responsible for the qualitative research in the Counselling Department of the College.
