Welcome to the website of the Undergraduate programme / Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Psychotherapy and Counselling.
A pioneering programme that combines the main points of interest for those wishing to study Psychology.

The programme is offered in collaboration with the School of Psychology and School of Community Health and Midwifery of the State University of Central Lancashire and extends the range of Psychotherapy programmes we offer in Greece. This combination of Psychology with Psychotherapy and Counselling covers the essential needs of every future professional who wants to outstand in the labor market. On the one hand, it covers the upcoming changes at European level in the field of Psychotherapy and in the profession of Psychotherapist, while on the other hand, it offers the possibility of obtaining a triple specialization in combination with the postgraduate studies of student's choice.

So, if you are a strong listener with strong empathy for others and want to help them understand and manage their problems, then this Programme is for you. You'll graduate with excellent observation, analysis, critical thinking and human management skills - elements that employers are particularly looking for.

Inter alia, it covers:

  • The theory and findings that govern the science of psychology and the study of human behavior
  • The theory and techniques governing the art of Psychotherapy and Counselling
  • Developing skills, defined by the British Psychological Society (BPS), as the core skills required for the Psychology graduate
  • Specialized knowledge in the dominant psychotherapeutic approaches - Psychodynamic, Systemic, Behavioral, and Person-Centered approach
  • Training in psychopathology, psychopharmacology and pharmaceutical interventions in combination with Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Personal development and expanded self-awareness through experiential exposure and group work
  • Research training in Psychology, Counselling & Psychotherapy


Moreover, important characteristics of the programme are:
  • Undergraduate/Bachelor with international recognition from the 5th largest University of England
  • Registration possibility in the British Psychological Society (under the procedure of Individual Basis)
  • Recognition in Greece, based on the provisions of Union Law, on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications as defined by law
  • Ensured continuation of postgraduate studies at any University abroad or in the postgraduate programmes that are offered by ICPS in Greece
  • An applied programme with 200 placement hours and observation sessions either at the ICPS Specialized One-Way Mirror Psychotherapy Laboratory or in private or public sector organizations
  • Flexible programme offered in full-time or part-time basis to be combined with other obligations


Entry Requirements


  • High School Degree
  • English language knowledge/comprehension, level IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
  • Those who have a High School Degree of 18 or above will be preferred
  • Successful participation in an interview with the Lead of the Programme


The duration of the programme is 3 years and with the completion and degree recognition from responsible body, the graduates can apply for the issuance of License of Practice for the Profession of Psychologist. 


COurse Structure

  • First year of study: The student familiarizes with the basic fields of Psychology: cognitive, biological, social, developmental, research- and gets to know not only the historical revolution but also the most important scientific points as they are being presented in Greece and internationally. Moreover during the first year training in basic Counselling & Psychotherapy skills, the structure and function of different Therapeutic Approaches, and specialization in Freud and Jung's theories of the subconscious and dream interpretation!
  • Second year of study: The student deepens and explores the central axes that determine the science and the way they are related and affect the specializations of Psychology. At the same time completes the analytical education in research and methodology which will be the key component not only for the last year of studies and the dissertation but also in any other postgraduate education in the future. Finally, students specialize in Counselling through Carl Rogers’ therapy principles, as well as specialized social groups and social challenges.
  • Third year of study: Specialized knowledge in the fields of applied psychology and in the manifestations of human behavior like individual differences, aggressiveness, criminology, psychopathology, stress in work environment, memory disorders, learning disabilities, eating disorders etc. At the same time, students are involved in an intensive process of Personal Development, as well as in contemporary issues in Psychotherapy, Counselling and their applications, such as ethics and deontology in online environments, counselling support for vulnerable groups, etc. In the third year of study the dissertation is being developed and placement in institutions is taking place. 


Academic Assessment:

Academic evaluation in this undergraduate programme includes a variety of methods: assignments, presentations, exams, self-assessment and personal development reports, role play, etc

  • Upon completion of studies in B.Sc. in Psychology with Psychotherapy and Counselling of the University of Central Lancashire at ICPS graduates are able to:
  • Work as psychologists in their own private office (following the recognition of the degree and the issue of the Professional Exercise License)
  • Work as Psychologists in cooperation with public or private sectors (mental health sectors, units of detoxification, NPO, etc)
  • Continue their postgraduate studies in Greece or abroad in distinguished programmes of specialization
  • Choose third specialization e.g. Child Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Psychosexual Therapy etc.
  • With the support of their personal Career Coach from ICPS they can develop their own individual professional plan and implementation steps
