Sofia Kessisoglou,
Β.Α., M.Ed., Ph.D.

Sophia was born and raised in Athens. After the completion of her studies in Education for Special Needs she worked as a post-doctoral research assistant in the department of Special Education of the University of Manchester and later on in the Hester Adrian Research Centre which examines issues about mental disabilities. 
Since 2010, she is part of the ICPS academic team in the department of Psychology. 
Her educational and research interests focus on two areas: learning difficulties and mental disabilities. In particular, she is interested in the psychological-social-emotional effects that learning difficulties have on children and their families. Furthermore, she explores community schemes that promote the inclusion of people with learning disabilities such as supported living, employment training and supported employment.
