Polly Iossifides was co-finder and President of the College for Humanistic Sciences - ICPS, having an active role within the field of Counselling, Psychotherapy and Personal Development during the last 30 years in both USA and Europe. She has studied Psychology, Philology, Communication, Group Dynamics, Supervision, Therapy and Personal Development at Temple University, University of Illinois, University of Pennsylvania, and other educational institutions. 
 
She has served Support Institutes and Institutions of Social Services in the USA; she has worked as a Professor/Trainee at Temple University, University of Illinois, Technological Institute of Athens, University of Strathclyde, etc.
 
Since 1980 she has been a pioneer of the Person-Centred Education, Therapy, Supervision/Guidance and Personal Development; during that period she has also written many articles and books concerning the Person-Centred Approach, Counselling and Psychotherapy. 
 
Furthermore, she has been founding member of the Greek and European Association for Counselling and of the Universal Association of Person-Centred and Focusing-Oriented/Experiential Counsellors and Psychotherapists. She has, also, been member of many organisations such as the European Association of Psychotherapy and she has participated, presented and carried out lectures and trainings at over 100 Conferences and Forums worldwide. In June 2009 she chaired at the International Convention of Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy organised by ICPS in Athens. 
 
Polly Iossifides was married to the Emeritus Professor of the University of Athens, Pathologist-Anatomist, Ioulios Iossifides with whom she had a daughter. During the anti-dictatorship struggle Ioulios and Polly Iossifides were among the first active members of the “Democratic Defence”.
 
She was fluent in Greek, English and French which helped her spread Counselling and Psychotherapy at European level, as well as supporting her hundreds of clients over the years.
